I work in the spaces between silence, story, and resilience — tracing memory, migration, and meaning through layered visual and written forms. My interdisciplinary practice explores new paradigms of language and connection, where repetition becomes both a medium and a method — undoing, reimagining, and remaking. I’m interested in how meaning is held, broken, and reshaped through gesture, absence, and form.
Rooted in both personal and collective histories, my work moves fluidly between Johannesburg, London, and Toronto — cities that echo with layered diasporic narratives and evolving cultural belonging. Through text, image, and form, I examine the spaces between language and silence, the weight of memory and experience, and the quiet resilience we inherit through matrilineal threads — a lineage of care and labor often carried silently within patriarchal systems that render it invisible; where memory lives not only in stories, but in the body, in gesture, in the labor of care and continuation, along with the invisible weight of what we are asked to carry, the silent rituals of labor passed down without naming.
I approach my work as both participant and witness — listening closely to what lingers at the edge of language, and honouring the quiet gestures of resilience and remembrance. I am drawn to the unsaid — the pauses, ruptures, and repetitions — and how they shape the stories we tell ourselves and each other.
Upcoming:
Collaborative works in process, exploring written and visual language across disciplines — rooted in themes of resilience, community, language, and stewardship. These projects consider what it means to make and remember together, to tend, to gather, and to hold space across mediums.
